UT Arlington
UTA is in central Arlington, about 2 miles from AT&T Stadium and 16 miles from DFW Airport. Around the city, Arlington On-Demand, a rideshare service run with Via, covers all of Arlington and the CentrePort TRE Station on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with fares from $3 to $8. College Park Center on campus was home to the Dallas Wings for 11 seasons before their move to the American Airlines Center for 2027.
UT Dallas
UT Dallas is in Richardson, near CityLine and the Telecom Corridor. UT Dallas Station, just north of campus, opened with DART’s Silver Line on October 25, 2025. The line links seven cities with DFW Airport’s Terminal B and runs from 4 a.m. to 1 a.m., every 30 minutes at weekday peak hours and every 60 minutes off-peak and at weekends, which makes it the budget way to DFW. A car is simpler for Love Field, about 19 miles away, and for early flights, heavy luggage and groups; see our Richardson car service page.
UNT and Texas Woman’s University in Denton
The University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University are in Denton, both about 27 miles from DFW Airport. By rail, DCTA’s A-train runs from the Downtown Denton Transit Center to Trinity Mills Station in Carrollton, where it meets DART’s Green Line; it runs Monday to Saturday only, every half hour on weekdays and hourly on Saturdays. UNT plays football at DATCU Stadium.
SMU
SMU is in University Park, north of Uptown, about 5 miles from Dallas Love Field, its closer airport. DART’s SMU/Mockingbird Station, on the Red, Orange and Blue lines, is the stop for the 440 SMU Express bus to campus. The George W. Bush Presidential Center and Gerald J. Ford Stadium are on the campus.
TCU
TCU is in south Fort Worth, about 29 miles from DFW Airport and close to Colonial Country Club, home of the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge. The Horned Frogs play football at Amon G. Carter Stadium on campus; see stadiums and arenas for game days across DFW.
